St. Paul Bathroom & Office Remodel with Therapy Tub

Project Summary

Our client in St. Paul requested renovations of their home office and bathroom. The office needed storage and a full refresh, and the bathroom needed a therapeutic tub to help with the client’s back pain. Both rooms required full-scale replacement of surfaces, flooring and storage.

Office Renovation

We removed the door from the living room, repaired the subfloor and added heated floors (Schluter Ditra-Heat) under Claros tumbled silver hexagon tile. The office got a custom Black Walnut cabinet system with Tier 5 Rolling Jasmine quartz countertops.

Bathroom Renovation

The centerpiece is a Water Tech combination therapy tub, chosen for the client’s back pain. The floor has Schluter in-floor heat under Firenze Carrara tile, which continues up the walls in a marble gray finish matching the countertops. A custom cabinet vanity carries a New Caledonia vanity top.

Challenges

Office: removing the original floor revealed asbestos in the subfloor, which required remediation before work could continue.

Bathroom: the exhaust fan’s ducting had problems. We installed new venting through the roof and out the side of the home.
